LQ, an updated version of the Latin Quarter nightclub, has become one of the highest-profile Latin clubs in New York.  Located on Lexington Avenue, Club LQ in NYC took two years to construct and four of those months were spent on the glass and mother-of-pearl terrazzo floors and is a mix of Shanghai and Latin flavors.  Owned by Latin music promoter, Ralph Mercado, Club LQ in NYC knows how to draw in the crowds from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m.  

Club LQ in NYC works to pack five different experiences into the 15,000 square foot space.  There is a bar, a recessed dance floor, a downstairs lounge, a VIP lair, and another VIP lounge upstairs.  Just making your way through the crowd so that you can explore all the different areas is enough to wear a person out at the club.  Though older, the somewhat “corporate” crowd still knows how to have a good time.

If you are going to Club LQ in NYC though, here are a few tips.  The first thing to know is to show up early if you want to avoid the crowds, but keep in mind that the club does not get packed until after midnight.  Also, if you want to enjoy the Latin-Asian menu at the club’s restaurant, any reservations before 10 p.m. will help you get into the club for free and without any problems.  One thing that club goers consistently agree on is that the bouncers are strict, so when you go, dress to impress.     

The Club LQ in NYC has been around for a couple of years now and has managed to survive.  The music is typical of any Latin club.  However, it has become a midtown mega-club that caters to the Park and Lex crowd that does not want to make their way downtown just for dancing.  You’ll always find beautiful people and beautiful dancing at Club LQ in NYC.  So put on your Salsa shoes and head to Club LQ in NYC for one of their special event nights or a normal night of dancing and drinking.
